About Elm House School

Rowan House School opened in November 2021.

The school provides specialist education as part of Halliwell’s Restorative Parenting® Recovery Programme, working collaboratively with our care and clinical teams to support each child’s individual needs.

What is unique about Elm House School

We think one of the most important parts of our job is to get to know the children and build really positive relationships. This helps us learn exactly what care our children respond well to and aids them emotionally, socially and educationally enabling them to progress through the Restorative Parenting® programme and move on to succeed within their next placement and throughout their lives.

Our Vision

To provide the best quality of education and care for vulnerable children through a vibrant curriculum which fully prepares pupils for their future economic wellbeing and nurtures outstanding personal development.

Ofsted Report

‘This is a school where dedicated staff ensure pupils feel settled, secure and safe. Staff know the pupils extremely well and deeply understand their needs, views and ambitions. This enables staff to tailor provision for each pupil successfully. Pupils enjoy their time in school and are rarely absent.’

‘Pupils arrive at this school having had very difficult experiences of education in the past. They all have special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). Staff understand this well and put in place the support needed. They are particularly skilled in addressing pupils’ social, emotional and mental health needs. As a result, pupils typically achieve well and simply love talking about what they have learned.’

“As Assistant Education Director, I am dedicated to ensuring every child is having the best possible experience and receiving the support they need to thrive. I love seeing children engage in exciting lessons, discover new interests and celebrate their achievements.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time walking my dog, travelling to new places and working in my garden. I particularly enjoy creating flower arrangements and bringing a little creativity into everything I do.

I believe learning should be engaging, enjoyable and full of opportunities to grow. I look forward to visiting the school, sharing in your successes and, of course, having plenty of laughs along the way.”
