About Spruce House School

Spruce House School opened in November 2025 and is based in Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire

It shares its location with and provides onsite education for Halliwell’s Primrose Lodge therapeutic children’s care home with the home and school working collaboratively, alongside the clinical team to deliver the Restorative Parenting Recovery Programme.

What is unique about Spruce House School

Working with the Restorative Parenting Programme at the heart of everything we do at Spruce House School, we encompass all aspects that are vital for a child to settle, feel secure and thus achieve whilst at school. Our high staff to pupil ratios allows all children to have a bespoke learning programme that allows them to succeed in an educational system that previously may have failed them.

Spruce House School ensures all pupils can build upon their cultural capital, visiting libraries, meeting with authors, taking part in UK Parliament Week and other focus weeks throughout the year.  All children have opportunities to gain skills in Trampolining.

Our key focus is to establish strong foundations for all children, socially, emotionally and academically to allow them to move onto an appropriate setting and succeed in later life.

Our Vision

‘To provide the best quality of education and care for vulnerable children through a vibrant curriculum which fully prepares pupils for their future economic wellbeing and nurture outstanding personal development.’

“As Assistant Education Director, I am dedicated to ensuring every child is having the best possible experience and receiving the support they need to thrive. I love seeing children engage in exciting lessons, discover new interests and celebrate their achievements.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time walking my dog, travelling to new places and working in my garden. I particularly enjoy creating flower arrangements and bringing a little creativity into everything I do.

I believe learning should be engaging, enjoyable and full of opportunities to grow. I look forward to visiting the school, sharing in your successes and, of course, having plenty of laughs along the way.”
