Halliwell Homes is a social enterprise offering clinically informed practice to children who have experienced earlier trauma in their lives. Many of these chilldren will also have suffered abuse, sexual, physical and emotional, and some will have not, but all have suffered the trauma of parental rejection. Halliwell's objective is to improve the psychological health and wellbeing of looked after children. Halliwell operates the 'Restorative Parenting Recovery Programme', which focuses on therapeutically addressing the emotional, behaviourial, social and developmental needs of children in our care. Our approach sets us apart from standard residential child care providers in that it is clinically informed in every aspect of the child’s lived therapeutic experience with the aim of helping traumatised children achieve recovery and psychological wellbeing.

  • Registered Manager (Children’s Home)
Hours: Full Time, Permanent  and On-Call duties
Salary: Negotiable (dependent on experience and qualification)
Location: Greater Manchester
Closing Date: 28th July 2017

The Registered Manager is responsible for overseeing the delivery of high quality standards of care to the children resident within the home. Having an overview on the running of the home, the post holder will plan for developments and ensure effective general day to day management. The post holder will work with other Heads of Departments and actively contribute to the continuous improvement of childcare standards across Halliwell Homes.

he post holder will be committed to continual professional development, particularly relating to Halliwell’s unique clinically informed practice model ‘Restorative Parenting Recovery Programme'. The post holder will ensure that the home is managed efficiently and effectively providing a therapeutic, healthy and caring environment to a high standard meeting Ofsted’s Quality Standards and associated Children’s Homes (England) Regulations. 

Registered Managers are expected to maintain high professional standards and be excellent communicators who are able to represent Halliwell as an organisation and practice effectively to a wide range of professionals and agencies.

  • Senior Therapeutic Parent (Children's Residential Senior Support Worker)
Hours: Full Time, Permanent, 40 hours per week, Shift work
Salary: £16,883.69 - £18,265.48 (dependent upon experience and qualifications). Sleep shift paid at £60 per hour
Location: Greater Manchester - based in one of four homes

You will be looking after children in one of Halliwell's residential homes delivering Halliwell’s Restorative Parenting® recovery programme tailored to the individual needs of the child.  You will lead and plan shifts ensuring appropriate staffing levels are maintained at all times.   A therapeutic, safe, healthy and homely environment will need to be in place at all times to meet Ofsted’s Quality Standards.

You will hold the QCF Level 3 in Health and Social for Children and Young People or relevant qualification and possess atleast two years experience working with children or young people in a residential or education setting. Ideally, a graduate with a relevant degree e.g. psychology and childcare and are keen to study towards a post-graduate qualification. You need to be passionate about delivering real psychological recovery for children within the looked after system.

  • Therapeutic Parent (Children's Residential Support Worker)

 

Hours: Full Time, Permanent, 40 hours per week, Shift work
Salary: £15,570 - £16,275.84 (dependant upon expereince and qualifcations). Sleep shift paid at £60 per hour
Location: Greater Manchester - based in one of four homes

You will be re-parenting children aged between 4 and 12 years who have suffered from trauma in their lives. You will be supporting and caring for children who can display complex and challenging behaviours in our therapeutic residential care home by meeting their social, emotional, cultural and educational needs. 

The post holder will also assist in the day to day running of the home including domestic duties and paperwork/record keeping working closely with onsite senior therapeutic parents, clinical and education teams to provide tailored psychological recovery programmes for each child. A therapeutic, safe,  healthy and homely environment will need to be in place at all times to meet Ofsted’s Quality Standards.
